IMPHAL, Nov 26: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has boycotted Union Home Minister Amit Shah and shut down all Central and State Government offices for two days with immediate effect.
Speaking to media persons at their Lamphelpat office today, COCOMI coordinator Somorendro Thokchom said that they have adopted a decision to this effect after the State Government failed to keep its words in the wake of the massacre of eight people by Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists at Jiribam including three children and three women.
NDA MLAs held a meeting recently and adopted several resolutions which included urging the Government of India to lift AFSPA, military crackdown against Kuki militants, declaration of Kuki militant groups as unlawful organisations and to see that these resolutions are translated into action within seven days, Somorendro pointed out.
The seven days deadline set by the State Government   has expired. As such, COCOMI has decided to boycott Union Home Minister Amit Shah until the ongoing proxy war being waged at the behest of New Delhi is brought to an end, he said.
Noting that people have been clamouring to remove the two Kuki Ministers from the State Government, the COCOMI coordinator warned that they will launch more intensive agitation if the same demand is not fulfilled at the earliest. In addition, all Central and State Government offices would be shut down for two days barring education and essential services, he added.
He then appealed to youth clubs, Meira Paibi organisations and the people to support the agitation.
He also appealed to all Government employees not to attend office for the next two days.
Somorendro Thokchom    said that the next course of agitation will be announced after two days.
As the State Government has been saying that it will go along with the people, it    should inform the people what step it will take next, Somorendro said.
