Absurd, says UNC

SENAPATI, Nov 25: The United Naga Council (UNC) has rejected third amendment of ADC 2008 and the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils (sixth amendment) Act 2022 as “null and void”.    
It has also termed the recommendation made by the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) for nomination of ad-hoc committee without any basis and provision as ‘unbecoming  and absurd’.
On October 14, 2024, the  HAC recommended formation of a 20-member committee with 18 members to be selected from former Autonomous District Council (ADC) members, local self Government experts, eminent intellectuals and two Government nominees.
