Arms recovered

IMPHAL, Nov 24: In a series of operations, security forces arrested two alleged cadres of Pambei-led UNLF in Imphal, dismantled bunkers in Jiribam and recovered arms and ammunition from Kangpokpi district, said IGAR South in a statement.
Manipur Police and Assam Rifles apprehended two alleged cadres of Pambei-led UNLF from an area near JNIMS Hospital in Porompat yesterday and recovered a 9mm Beretta pistol and ammunition. The arrested individuals and the weapons have been handed over to the police, said the IGAR South.
In Jiribam today, troops of the Assam Rifles, CRPF, police and IRB conducted combing operations at Mongbung, Zairawn, Balijuri, and Kashimpur.
The operation carried out using explosive detection dogs, deep search metal detectors, and drones resulted in diffusion of an improvised device and a grenade attached to a tripwire, placed by miscreants in a jungle trail.
The security forces dismantled three bunkers.
In another operation, the Assam Rifles and the Manipur police conducted a joint search operation in the Longajang area of Lunkhongjang ridges, Kangpokpi today and recovered a .303 Rifle, a SBBL gun, two 9mm Pistols, a long-range mortar ammunition and war like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to the police.
