FOCS urges legal action against Paolienlal

IMPHAL, Nov 23 : The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur has urged both the Centre and the State Government to initiate legal actions against Saikot MLA Pao-lienlal Haokip for openly declaring that killing of an infant and five other civilians by Chin-Kuki-Zo people was just a revenge.
It is unfortunate that the Governments, both at the Centre and the State, haven't taken up any action against the Kuki MLA who declared that the  Jiribam incident which has sent shockwaves throughout the State and beyond was just a retaliatory act, FOCS said in a statement.
The six innocent civilians were killed in captivity in the most brutal  manner and there is suspicion that the women might have been raped before taking their lives, the federation added.
Continuing that many organisations have been urging the Government to disqualify the 10 Chin-Kuki-Zo MLAs and take actions against them all these months as they allegedly are the masterminds behind the unrest besetting Manipur, FOCS maintained that the Government, unfortunately, hasn't taken any actions against them.
The federation further claimed that another Chin-Kuki-Zo MLA LM Khaute honouring the 11 terrorists who got killed while attacking the CRPF personnel deployed at Jakuradhor, Jiribam as heroes confirm that they have been working hand in glove with lawbreakers to destabilise Manipur and unleash terror  on the Meiteis.
FOCS then demanded that the Government should take immediate action against the 10 Chin-Kuki-Zo MLAs and civil society organisations which are associated with them.
