"Haomee Village Volunteer Force" need of the hour : FoH

IMPHAL, Nov 22 : The Federation of Haomee (FoH) has proposed raising "Haomee Village Volunteer Force" in every village in view of the rampant armed attacks, disturbances to vehicular movements and other harmful activities upon "Haomee communities" in Kangpokpi district by Chin-Kuki-Zo community.
In a press release, FoH recalled the series of incidents including the gun attack on a Tangkhul farmer at Sanao Chingjin under Yaingangpokpi PS on November 11 and raining down bullets towards Thamnapokpi yesterday and added that there are many more instances of violent incidents carried out by unabashed Chin-Kuki-Zo people upon innocent "Haomee" people.
"Haomee" people have been suffering enough and the situation has strongly necessitated for every Haomee village to have its own "Haomee Village Volunteer Force", it said.
It is impossible for the State Government to provide security to every village, nor getting security is the permanent solution, said FoH while maintaining that the Government of India and the State Government should take proactive roles in raising "Haomee Village Volunteer Force".
Raising such forces will be the only solution to counter the Chin-Kuki-Zo elements who have crossed all the human conventions in their campaign to "usurp land", it said.
FoH also expressed its firm belief in the strength of united "Yelhoumees" and said this strength can overcome all forms of adversities.
