IMPHAL, Nov 21: The Purum Riem Council Manipur (PRCM) has vehemently condemned the rape, torture and cold blooded murder of six hostages including three children and three women.
A press release issued by PRCM said that the Chin-Kuki-Zo communities who claimed to be Christians have disgraced the entire Christian community.
These communities have no land of their own in any part of the world and they cannot live together with any other community, it asserted.
The barbaric attitude and activities of the Chin-Kuki-Zo people have demeaned all the followers of Christianity, it said.
On the other hand, more and more people have lost their faith in the valley based CSOs considering the ad-hoc measures/decisions taken by them in connection with the current crisis.
Before announcing a public agitation or movement, the CSOs must seek approval and consensus of the people. In the same way, before withdrawing or suspending any mass movement, they must first consult the people, the PRCM said.
However, with a handful of people taking decisions on behalf of the people at their own fancy and whim,  the Government can easily manipulate and change the directions of all the movements, it said.
People in the hills no longer see a CSO dedicated to the cause of the people, not related or influenced by the Government in the valley.
This has become a source of derision by the Chin-Kuki-Zo people, it said.
“If we must defeat the enemy, we need to work sincerely without any deception. Purum Riem will always stand against those communities who commit inhumane crimes”, it added.
