IMPHAL, Nov 19 : The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) Manipur has appealed to all clubs, organisations and womenfolk to stage a sit in protest against the killing of three women and three children in the most horrific way after they were taken captive by Kuki militants tomorrow.
Speaking to the media at Palace Compound today, FOCS president Th Manihar appealed to the people to demand legal actions against all the culprits involved in the brutal murder of the hostages, revocation of AFSPA and termination of the 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs during the demonstration tomorrow.
Saying that no Ministers and MLAs have made public their position regarding the unfolding situation in Manipur, Manihar added that no culprits involved in the execution of a family in Jiribam have been arrested so far.
Manihar then urged the Government to arrest the murderers within seven days as resolved during the Cabinet meeting yesterday.
He further demanded that Kuki-Zo groups involved in criminal activities be declared as unlawful organisations.
Reimposition of AFSPA in areas under six police stations is also unacceptable, Manihar added.
Saying that FOCS may boycott all the MLAs and demand their resignation if they don't state their position and take up a concrete measure to restore normalcy in Manipur, he added that all the MLAs should take responsibility for all eventuality if people are not satisfied with their course of action.
