IMPHAL, Nov 19: A two-member team of the National Commission for Women (NCW) landed here today and went back today itself after holding a meeting with Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi and DGP Rajiv Singh.
NCW Member Secretary Meenakshi Negi and Member Dr Archana Majumdar landed at Imphal at 1.30 pm today.
The NCW members held a closed door meeting with the Chief Secretary and the DGP. Even though the NCW members went together with some officers of Social Welfare Department,  the latter were left out of the meeting.
As such, they have no idea of what transpired during the meeting between the NCW team, the Chief Secretary and the DGP, sources said.
After the meeting with the Chief Secretary and the DGP, the NCW team went to the relief camps of Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Langol and interacted with displaced women and children staying there.
The NCW team left Imphal at 5 pm.
In the backdrop of the most barbaric murder of three women and three children after they were taken hostage by Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists, the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) wrote to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and the National Commission for Women to visit Manipur and take stock of the situation.
