5th N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy Th Lucky, Ziad Khan star in PCC's 118-run victory as SSC cruise to third straight win

IMPHAL, Nov 2 : Thokchom Lucky hit a 107-ball 160 and Ziad picked five as PCC, Mayaikoibi thumped YWC, Langthabal by 118 runs for the second straight Group A win in the ongoing 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy at Lairenjam Public Ground.
PCC won the toss and opted to bat first.
They however had to rely on Lucky's solitary batting performance to gather 232 runs for all wickets down in 35 overs as four batters went out on ducks while other batters ended up making single digit scores.
Lucky's knock included 16 fours and 5 sixes in the innings that saw Yumnam Sushil of YWC-L (3/42) and Yumnam Achouba (2/51) sharing five wickets while two others managed a wicket apiece.
In reply, YWC-L faltered badly and were dismissed for 114 runs in 27.1 overs as Ziad Khan enjoyed a fifer (5/38 in 7 overs) and Nongmaithem Lamnganba (3/10) in 4.1 overs rattled their batting line up. PCC's Lucky and L Nelson also claimed a wicket apiece.
Thokchom Lucky was eventually adjudged player of the match.
AMCA open Group B account
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, AMCA, Thoubal defeated RULE, Meitram by 7 wickets to open their Group B winning account.
AMCA elected to field first and restricted RULE to 86 all out 27 overs riding on Maibam Anish (3/11) and Moichingmayum Md Yakin (3/15) and chased down the target in 18.1 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Indrakumar Sanjenbam topscored for RULE adding 47 runs.
For AMCA, Sangomsumpham Albash 17 and Khulakpam Fariyaz 29 added an unbeaten 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket to take the team to winning 87.
Ng Nongpoknganba, Kh Sanjaikar and S Indrakumar picked  a wicket apiece for RULE.
Md Yakin who enjoyed a three wicket haul was adjudged  player of the match.
KSDO open Group C campaign in style
The day also saw KSDO, Kyamgei overwhelm CDCC, Sagolband by 210 runs to kick off their Group C campaign in style at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong thanks to Abu Sufiyan all round performance.
Put in to bat first, KSDO erected a massive total of 266 runs for 8 wickets in 35 overs thanks to impressive half century knocks from Md Washim (74/36; 14 fours, 1 six) and Md Abu Sufiyan (51 off 69 balls; 6 fours) and 66 extras conceded by reckless CDCC bowlers.
Wasim Khan 4/33 and Warish Khan 2/38 were the leading bowlers for CDCC in this innings before they bundled out for just 56 runs in 13.5 overs as Md Adanan Raj (4/9 in 4 overs)  and Md Abu Sufiyan (4/23 in 3.5 overs) ran riot with their impressive bowling performances for KSDO.
Only Safiqur Rahaman 13 was the double digit getter for CDCC in this innings as five batters were dismissed on ducks and other fell cheaply.
Abu Sufiyan was adjudged player of the match.
SSC cruise to third win on trot
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, SSC, Porompat defeated Sagolband United (SU), Sagolband by 63 runs for the third Group D win on the trot.
SU opted to field first and restricted SSC to 139/8 in 30 overs but they ended up collecting 76 runs for 6 wickets to hand SSC a comfortable 63-run victory.
Sadique 28, Anish Lasker 5 not out and Nadir 18 were the main run getters for SSC in their innings in which K David (3/21) and K Yaikhomba (2/20) shared five wickets while two others picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, K Yaikhomba scored a painstakingly slow 74-ball 22 not out and Romakanta scored 16 not out off 39 balls.
Nadir was the pick of SSC bowlers claiming three wickets (3/14 in 6 overs) while MD Anush and Sadique picked a wicket apiece.
Nadir was eventually adjudged player of the match.
