IMPHAL, Nov 18 : Wabagai AC MLA and Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board Usham Deben has said that the State Government is making all efforts to address prevailing situations including the one and half year old communal crisis, reimposition of AFSPA, brutal killing of women and children in Jiribam.
In a statement, Dr Usham Deben said that the Government is making its best effort to bring an amicable solution towards the communal crisis that erupted on May 3 last year while also urging the Centre to reconsider the recent reimposition of AFSPA in areas under 6 police stations.
He also expressed shock over the brutal murder of internally displaced women and children in Jiribam after they were captured during a well co-ordinated armed attack and held hostage on November 11 before killing and dumping them into Jiri river.
The Governoment will not spare anyone involved in the bestial crime and justice will be delivered, he said.
On recent demand from the people to state his stand, he reaffirmed his stand to give up his post and work with the people of the Wabagai Assembly Constituency as taken during a meeting held earlier in case the Centre compromises State's territorial Integrity.
