Torch rallies staged all over

IMPHAL/JIRI, Nov 15 : Torch rallies were taken out in different parts of Manipur today demanding safe release of the three women and three children who were abducted by Kuki militants on November 11.
In Jiribam, hundreds of people took out a torch rally from different localities and they later gathered at the Irabot Complex at Babupara.
The protesters chanted slogans in Manipuri which roughly translate as "Resign inefficient Jiribam MLA", "We condemn the failure of the Government to protect lives and properties", "Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists down down" and "Release the abductees" among others.
Similar rallies were taken out at Khurai, Chingamakha and other parts of the States too.
The torch rally in Khurai was organised by Nupi Lamjing Lup Khurai against the abduction of civilians and reimposition of AFSPA.
The rally began from Khurai Lamlong Keithel and passed through different areas of Wangkhei.
