4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas observed

SENAPATI, Nov 15:  In commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Senapati district administration organised the 4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas  celebration today at Multipurpose Hall, DC Office Complex, Senapati.
The programme was graced by Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit Singh as the chief guest and Education Minister Th Basantakumar Singh as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering,  Th Biswajit  emphasized on the importance and preservation of culture.
He said that PM Modi would be inaugurating various projects and laying foundation stones on this day to promote tribal art, culture, heritage, and history at the National mega event of the Janjatiya Diwas celebration at Jamui, Bihar.
He appealed to the gathering to work together for better tomorrow.
Th Basantakumar stressed on living together as one by helping each other irrespective of tribes, castes, and religion.
Senapati DC Mamoni Doley said that the 4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas will be celebrated till November 26 to coincide with the Constitution Day across the country.
In today’s celebration, the oldest headman amongst the respective tribes of the district were felicitated along with outstanding tribal achievers in the field of sports and education.
Besides, there was presentation of cultural dance and music items by the tribes of Mao, Thangal, Zeliangrong and Poumai Naga.
A special folk tune was also presented by a renowned singer Guru Rewben Mashangva.
In the meantime, various welfare schemes/projects consisting of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna, knapsack sprayer, Farmer Registration Card, AYUSHMAN BHARAT Card, PMAY- G 1st instalment and assisted living devices were distributed to the eligible beneficiaries.
Later, the dignitaries inspected the stalls opened by various SHGs and departments.
The programme was attended by Hill Area Committee Chairman D Gangmei, MLAs L Dikho, J Kumo Sha,  Special Chief Secretary, Tribal Affairs & Hills MH Khan,  Srinivas Rao, Director of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries,  Hannah Kahmei, Director of TA & Hills, DLO’s, CSO’s, tribal headmen and students.
Tamenglong
The 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda was observed today together with the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2024 celebration at SDO office complex, Tamenglong.
The event was graced by Kachamthai F Gangmei, Chief Executive Officer of ADC Tamenglong as the chief guest, and Josiah T Pamei, Additional SP as guests of honour.
The dual celebration highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the tribal communities while emphasizing the need for their upliftment.
The event attracted a diverse audience including D Meidinbui, SDO Tamenglong, KC Savio, president of the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM), local village leaders and numerous citizens from surrounding areas.
Folk songs and music were also presented at the event.
Kamjong
District administration, Kamjong today observed 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The celebration led by Deputy Commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter was held at the Deputy Commissioner's camp office located inside the 2nd MR Complex, Imphal.  
Since 2021, Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is celebrated on November 15 every year across India to honour the contributions of the tribal communities, especially in India’s freedom struggle. The day marks the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a tribal leader and freedom fighter, who led the Ulgulan (Revolution) challenging British oppressive rule.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Kamjong Rangpeter spoke briefly on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and his fight against British colonial rule.
The DC also reminded about Manipur’s tribal freedom fighters like Rani Gaidinliu and Haipou Jadonang and their role in the freedom struggle.
The Deputy Commissioner further explained about the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a flagship programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
With an outlay of over Rs 79,156 crore, this ambitious program aims to address critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood development across approximately 63,843 tribal villages across 549 districts and 2,911 blocks, spanning 30 States and Union Territories (of which 27 villages in Kamjong district were chosen by the Ministry for saturation of Government flagship programmes, the DC added.
He urged all line departments to extend their support in making the campaign a success.
Later ID cards were distributed to beneficiaries of several schemes like PM Van Dhan Vikas Kendra, CMHT Scheme, Old Age Pension Scheme, CM Widow Pension Scheme, PM KISAN, PMJAY schemes, etc.
Chandel
The Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2024 was also celebrated at Chandel DC office complex under the aegis of the Chandel district administration.
Speaking at the event, ADC Chandel Md Firoz Khan said that Dharti Aabas Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a scheme implemented under the Ministry of Tribal Affair and it is primarily focused on tribal people.
SDO Khengjoy, SDO Chakpikarong, CMO Chandel, MSRLM Manager and District Agriculture Officer, Chandel were also present at the event.
Noney
In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2024, was observed at Longmai -3, Noney district headquarters under the aegis of Noney district administration today.
The observation was attended by Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju, DC Noney, Namsadai Peter Pamei, SP Noney, Stiff Kaphudang, ADM Noney, Christian Home, SDO Haochong and other district level officers.
Noney DC Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju exhorted the gathering to follow the footsteps shown by the tribal freedom fighters and leaders like the Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
He also appealed to all the DLO’s of Noney district to work sincerely and selflessly for the development of the district and urged the gathering to cooperate with the district administration in every sphere for the welfare of every denizen.
 As a part of the Diwas, a virtual broadcasting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching, laying foundation stones and inauguration of various schemes worth Rs 6000 crore was viewed by the gathering.
Cultural activities such as traditional tribal dances were also performed by various dance troupes.
More than 20 stalls of various departments were also opened during the celebration.
