Noney gets first artificial turf ground

Noney, Nov 14 : The 1st ever turf ground in Noney district HQs was formerly Inaugurated by Christian Home, SDO Haochong sub-division during a solemn function held in the presence of Akhuanh Riamei, proprietor AGA-PHAY TURF GROUND; Adai Dangmei, chairman, Villages Council Longmai Area and Rev Ngamdisin Kamei, Pastor of Longmai-3, Baptist Church as dignitaries and administrator of turf dedication.
Dr Gaikhamsin Riamei, Associate Professor MU; Ningthouchapou Kamei, gen secy, District Sport Association (DSA) Noney also attended the launch function of the turf ground located at Duigaijang Happy Colony, Longmai Bazar, Noney Dist HQ and titled- "AGA-PHAY TURF GROUND", as special guest who also exhorted the players & congratulations.
Following the dedication prayer led by administrator Rev Ngamdisin Kamei, the chief guest spoke on the importance of the infrastructure for different games and sports in the district.
He also thanked Akhuanh Riamei for installation of the turf ground for the sports loving people of Noney district, though he is an Imphal resident.
Gakloungam Riamei, son of Akhuanh, is the manager of this turf ground.
Many CSO and village leaders of Longmai Area Churches  and sports loving youth turned up for the program and witnessed some thrilling football matches as a part of the inaugural function.
Luangchum (Awangkhul) FC suffered a 1-2 loss to Namdunlong in the first match before  Longmai-4 FC edged Makhuam FC 3-2 in the second match and Rangkhung FC beat Taotiak (Nungtek) FC 6-3 in the third match.
