UVSA, MLVFA confirm QF slots

IMPHAL, Nov 14 : UVSA, Lilong Chajing and MLVFA, Mayai Lambi confirmed their quarterfinal slots in 1st State Level Chingtham Anandkumar Memorial 9-A-Side Veteran Football tournament hosted at SICO ground, Lourembam Leikai.
In their last Group C league match, UVSA played out a 1-1 draw with FLAM, Yaiskul to finish group winners on 5 points as MLVFA finished group runners up with 4 points, ahead of FLAM who also finished with 4 points but with inferior goal count.
UVSA and FLAM were neck and neck in their final league match and entered into the break goalless before FLAM took the lead one thanks to Akham (31') and Noren scored the the equaliser next minute
Later in the last Group C league match, VFC-A edged past MLVFA 2-1 to earn the runners up spot courtesy of goals from A Jenjit (2') and Th Bisheshwor (48').
Kh Manaoba in the 18th minute meanwhile scored the consolation goal for MLVFA in the 18th minute
