Kom Union appeals for safe release

IMPHAL, Nov 14 : The Kom Union Manipur (KUM) has appealed to the group which abducted  the six individuals in Jiribam to release them on humanitarian ground. In a statement, KUM said that the abduction of innocent people is deeply regrettable and left the entire Nation in pain and anguish.
The incident has also left all communities in a state of distress, it said and added that the abducted  women and children are ordinary citizens and they are innocent. "Irrespective of ethnicity and belonging, we make this appeal on humanitarian grounds out of respect for human lives," KUM said.
Appealing to all concerned to uphold human dignity and release the six civilians in their custody, KUM added that lives, particularly those of children, are precious and their protection is a shared responsibility.
