THOUBAL, Nov 14 : All India Tanzeem-E- Insaaf (AITI), Manipur State Council has urged the State Government to make the necessary security arrangements to allow farming activities to continue in the paddyfields of the State.
Otherwise, the State should provide compensation to the farmers, said a press release issued by Md Islaouddin, National Secretary, AITI.
AITI also highlighted various issues prevailing in the State that are making life harder for the common people.
In particular, the press note pointed out that due to attacks and arson of goods laden trucks along the highway coupled with illegal taxation and assaults on drivers, the prices of essential daily commodities have skyrocketed.
Additionally, innocent farmers working on their fields have been attacked, turning the paddyfields into a battle ground, said AITI.
Further condemning the killing of two men and the abduction of three children and three women in Jiribam, AITI  asserted that such incidents could have been prevented if there was a proper Government in charge of the State.
It added that the Central and State Government should hold themselves accountable for the violence that has ravaged Manipur since last year.
AITI called upon the State and Central Government to secure the safe release of the six abducted civilians and reunite them with their families.
