PICK, IDM demand safe release of missing civilians

IMPHAL, Nov 14  : The Peace and Integrity Committee, Kyamgei (PICK) has appealed for the unconditional release of six civilians including three children who were taken captive by Kuki militants on November 11 from Jiribam district.
The ITLF, COTU, KIM and various Church leaders must extend every possible support for the safe release of the civilians, said PICK in a statement. When  a viral video of two women paraded naked was circulated, the PM of India expressed his anger and immediately ordered the arrest  of the culprits. A sum of Rs 10 lakh each was also handed to the victims from the PM relief fund, said PICK.
When 6 civilians including women and children were captured by the Kuki militants, why is PM Modi silent ? Where is Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao? asked PICK.
The PICK urged PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and act swiftly for the safe release of the civilians.
The Government of India must be held responsible if the demands are not met, said PICK.
Meanwhile, Indigenous Development Mission (IDM) strongly condemned the abduction of women and children.
IDM in a statement lamented that the State Government and Central Government are unable to tackle the Kuki militants' aggression and urged the Government to take every possible step to rescue the hostages.
