JIRIBAM, Nov 13: People taking refuge in Borobekra police station have served an ultimatum to the Government to relocate them to Jiribam or a safer place within 48 hours.
In a video recording that has been released by the people taking shelter inside the police station, they said the Government should construct or arrange a relief camp and relocate them within 48-hours.
People of Borobekra region who have been affected by the indiscriminate attacks of Kuki militants are currently taking refuge in a relief camp set up inside the police station.
They said their lives are in danger due to frequent attacks launched by Kuki militants.
One Yurembam ningol Sadhyani Devi said she is taking care of two sons of a woman who was abducted by the Kuki militants recently.
Notably, 6 persons including three women and 3 minors were abducted by the Kuki militants on November 11.
Requesting the safe release of 6 persons, Sadhyani said the people staying in the camp inside the police station should be relocated to Jiribam or other safe area immediately.
In the video, they raised slogans calling on the Government to save and rehabilitate the lives of the displaced.
