Committee condemns killing of Sapam Sofia

IMPHAL, Nov 13 : The Bishnupur District Protection Co-ordinating Committee has strongly condemned the killing of Sapam ongbi Sofia (33) w/o Sapam Dayanand by Kuki narco-terrorists while working in a paddy field at Wathamlambi under Phoubakchao police station on November 9.
The 18 month long crisis in the State is more of a proxy war and is the ploy of the Indian Government to eradicate the Meitei community, alleged Bishnupur District Protection Co-ordinating Committee in a statement.
The committee lambasted the Government of India for being a mute spectator to the present conflict. The committee with the help of people may take extreme steps to review the pre-merger status if the Government fails to find a solution to to the prevailing conflict in the State, it said.
