IMPHAL, Nov 13 : The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has come out strongly against the shooting of a young Tangkhul man while he was working in a paddy field on November 11. Kanshok Horam, a  young farmer from New Canaan village sustained bullet injuries while working in a paddy field with his friends.
Horam was injured when Kuki militants opened indiscriminate firing on a group of people working in the field on the said day.
TKS stated that the Nagas have been the punching bag of the two warring communities,  Meitei and Kuki since the beginning of the ongoing conflict.
The TKS will take the matter with utmost seriousness, and will retaliate if compelled. The TKS decision to  refrain from retaliatory action was made with the intent to contribute towards pacifying the violent situation, however, this restraint has been grossly misunderstood by both communities, said the TKS.
The TKS stance for peace has been misinterpreted and has been continuously provoking and may no longer choose the path of peace. "Enough is Enough", said the TKS.
The TKS acknowledged and appreciated Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL) and Tangkhul Naga Valley Student Association (TNVSA) for their swift response in announcing an indefinite total shutdown, although it was lifted after conscientious discussion taking the plight of the people commuting the Imphal-Ukhrul road.
However, the agitation will be carried on with an indefinite economic blockade unless justice is served to the victim and to the community and will not be held responsible for any casualties among the warring communities when compelled to defend and secure the lives of our people, said TKS.
