AR foils infiltration attempt

IMPHAL, Nov 13: Assam Rifles on November 11 intercepted a potential infiltration attempt by cadres of the Koireng led UNLF along the Myanmar border, Moreh, Tengnoupal district.
A release issued by the IGAR (South) stated that, while monitoring the border area, a suspicious movement was detected and a person was observed approaching the border fence from across the IMB.
Upon crossing into Indian territory, the individual was challenged by Assam Rifles troops and apprehended. A detailed search of the individual revealed no weapons or contraband, said the IGAR (South).
During questioning, the individual identified himself as SS Pvt cadre of the Koireng led UNLF and he was later handed over to the Moreh Police station on November, 12, it said.
