CoTU urges
KANGPOKPI, Nov 11: The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) met the Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh at Kangpokpi District Headquarters and submitted a memorandum addressing three points.
According to the Committee, the DGP called on them to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in the district.
The Kuki-Zo leaders expressed deep appreciation to the police, especially in Kangpokpi under the leadership of SP Manoj Prabhakar for maintaining law and order in the district with integrity.
However, CoTU emphasized on the need to take immediate action on three critical issues as its spokesperson Ng Lun Kipgen outlined the committee's demands, which include preventing the settlement of insurgent groups in Kuki-Zo inhabited places, establishment of a police station at Phailengmol region and to let security forces remain politically neutral.
