Tributes paid

IMPHAL, Nov 12: Family members today paid floral tributes to Ayekpam  Dhiren alias Angam at his memorial located at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai on the occasion of Martyrs Memorial Day .
Family members paid floral tributes and offered lamps at the memorial in the evening.
Notably, two PREPAK cadres and one PLA cadre were killed in an encounter with a combined force of Manipur Police and CRPF at Kameng Leimarok on November 12, 1978. PREPAK’s Ayekpam Dhiren and Phurailatpam Kabikanta alias Leimu of Sagolband Meino Leirak and PLA’s Pukhrambam Gambhir of Kakwa Naorem Leikai were killed in the encounter.     Coincidentally, it was on November 12, 1985 that PREPAK leader RK Tulachandra alias Loyataba died at the hands of security forces at Kabowakching.
