IMPHAL, Nov 11 : TRAU, Kwakeithel finished Group D winners with a 235-run victory against SSC, Porompat in the top of the table contest in the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 today at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Mutum Swabhiman produced an all-round performance in ESU's massive victory in their decisive Group D match today. Swabhiman clobbered 14 fours and 5 sixes to gather 109 off 55 balls while Huiningshumbam Luching hit a 69-ball 55 to help ESU post 265/4 in the allotted 35 overs.
Mutum Swabhiman 4/6 in 3 overs, Preethson Arubam 3/4 in 5 overs and Ringku Moirangthem 2/3 in 2 overs then ran through the SSC lineup to bowl them out for 30 runs in 14 overs.
For SSC, Ruhan Bm, Anish Lasker, Sadique and Nadir all picked a wicket apiece before Preethson and Swabhiman ran riot and cleaned up all the batters on single digit runs including 7 batters on ducks.
Swabhiman was eventually adjudged man of the match.
With the win, TRAU finished atop Group D table above runners up SSC. Both teams qualified for the quarterfinals.
The day also saw RCA, Lilong and PTRC, Patsoi Part IV register their third wins in four games to boost their quarterfinal hopes as AMCA missed the quarterfinal slot by finishing third in Group B league competition.
RCA earned their third Group A win as they trounced KASC, Khomidok by 177 runs at Moijing Public Ground.
RCA erected a massive total of 246/4 in 33 overs thanks to a 56-ball century by Zuned and half centuries from Md Anush (53 off 70 balls) and Md Safwan Ahamed (50 off 33 balls) and dismissed KASC for 69 runs in 22.3 overs thanks to Zuned 2/10 and Md Irfan 2/2 led the RCA bowling attack.
Only Md Alfash 19 and Sohail Khan 10 were double digit run getters for KASC in the forgettable chase.
Zuned was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at PTRC downed KSDO, Kyamgei by 36 runs for their third Group C win and to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.
Laitonjam James scored a 75-ball 124 off 15 fours and 6 sixes to help PTRC post a modest total of 184 runs for wickets in 34.1 overs before Laitonjam Jackson (4/14) and Laitonjam James (3/15) shared 7 wickets to bundle out KSDO for 148 runs in 33.2 overs.
Kh Firdos (4/25), Md Soheb (3/37) and Md Abu Sufiyan (2/44) of KSDO shone with their bowling before their chase ended up at 148 despite Kh Firdos' 36 and 52 extras.
Laitonjam James who struck a century and picked three wickets was declared player of the match.
At Khudeibam Lampak, AMCA posted an 18-run victory over YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel but finished third in the Group B table to miss out on the quarterfinal slot.
After opting to bat first, AMCA were bowled out for 106 runs as YUCC's Shresth Oinam 3/30, Rajbir Khumanthem 2/19 and K Malangbam 2/30 shared a bulk of 7 wickets.
YUCC however faltered badly in response and slumped to 88 all out in 17.5 overs as Thoubalmayum Mustakim 4/23, Hanif 3/38 and Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan 2/9 were at their best for AMCA.
Mustakim who added highest 19 for AMCA and picked 4 wickets was named player of the match.
