MPSC, VSAI qualify for QFs in Veteran Football tourney

IMPHAL, Nov 11 : MPSC defeated EMVFC by 2-0 goals as VSAI edged past NKVFC by 2-1 goals in today's Group B matches of the ongoing 1st State Level SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar Memorial 9-A-Side Veteran Football Tournament 2024-25.
In the 13th match of the tournament, MPSC rode on second half goals from Vikramjit (38') and Romen (40') to overcome EMVFC 2-0.
Later in the 14th match, P Romesh scored a brace to help VSAI go 2-1 past NKVFC. The consolation goal for NKVFC was scored by M Jayentakumar in the 55th minute.
With today's victory, VSAI topped the group table with three of three wins as MPSC finished group runners up on 6 points from two wins in three matches. Based on their league standings, both the teams qualify for the quarterfinals from the group.
Altogether 12 teams clubbed into three groups are participating in the tournament.
