Sapam Sofia condoled
IMPHAL, Nov 10 : Bharatiya Kisan Sanga has mourned the death of farmer Sapam Sofia (27) of Saiton Watham Lambi, Kumbi who was shot by Kuki narco terrorists while working at a paddy field.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Nameirakpam Indubushan urged the Government to safeguard and protect the lives of the people.
He also condemned the heinous act of Kuki narco terrorists in the strongest term and condoled the demise of Sapam Sofia and shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
The organization further stated that it will hold a Sammelan on November 19 at Central Agriculture University, Iroishemba in a campaign to start cultivating Rabi crops on the empty fields of the State.
The organisation further urged the Government and relevant authorities to extend support to the campaign.
Rabi crop seeds will also be distributed during the Sammelan, said the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.
