Seminar concludes

IMPHAL, Nov 10: The two-day seminar on the “Idea of Manipur (Its Historical Evolution)” organised by the Yelhou-Mee Kanba Lup (YEMKAL) concluded today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
The morning session of the second day was moderated by retired Professor W Nabakumar.
Retired Professor Dr Ch Priyoranjan presented a paper on “Shaping the idea of Manipur–Historical and socio-economic basis”, DMU Assistant Prof Dr Aram-bam Noni on “Understanding Indigeneity: Issues in Manipur” and retired IAS officer K Radha-kumar on “Revenue administration and uniform land law in Manipur”.
During the afternoon session, retired Prof W Naba- kumar presented a paper on “Imagining the future of Manipur towards the ethics of multi-culturalism”, Dr Malem Ningthouja on “Territory of Manipur and hill governance from 1826 to 1947” and researcher Md Taiyeebur Rahaman Khan on “Meetei Pangal and historical evolution of the idea of Manipur”.
