IDPs protest

IMPHAL, Nov 10: Raising a strong voice of resentment and indignation against the failure of the Government of India and the State Government to bring a solution to the 18 months old violent crisis, internally displaced persons staying at different relief camps staged protest demonstrations at multiple locations today.
Protest demonstrations were held at Mandop Yumpham Relief camp, Khurkhul, Phayeng High School Relief Camp, Phumlou Keiroi High School Relief Camp and Tairenpokpi Primary Relief Camp.
The protesters shouted slogans like “How long shall we be lodged in relief camps”, “We like to live in our own homes, not in prefabricated houses built by the Government”, “A leader should have the courage and astuteness to solve all issues of both the hills and he valley”, “A leader should feel the people’s suffering”, “A leader should have the ability to bring peace”, “We want a Government which can restore peace in Manipur”, “A leader should have the courage to speak boldly to the Centre on behalf of the people of Manipur” etc.
