Crackers banned

IMPHAL, Oct 31 : The District Magistrate, Imphal East under Section, 163 (2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 has banned the sale and use of crackers/fireworks in connection with the ensuing Diwali festival in the whole area of Imphal East district.
A similar ban has also been enforced in Bishnupur with the DM issuing an order to this effect today.
An order issued by the District Magistrate of Imphal East stated that no person or firm shall engage in possession and sale of crackers and fireworks without a valid license issued by the District Magistrate. There is no temporary licence for possession and sale of crackers/firework.
Violators will be prosecuted as per law, said the District Magistrate.
