RIMS observes World Mental Health Month

IMPHAL, Oct 31 : Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Wednesday observed World Mental Health Month 2024 under the theme, "It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in Our Communities" at General OPD Complex, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
The event organised by the College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal was graced by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS; Prof H Jamuna Devi, Principal, College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital and Prof RK Lenin Singh, Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Imphal as presidium members, said a release issued by RIMS, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar said , "Mental health awareness is essential, not just as an annual observance, but as a continuous commitment to the well-being of individuals and our communities to prioritize our health".
He shared that the World Mental Health Month observance at RIMS was focussed on "Mental Health in the Workplace", addressing the rising mental health challenges faced by professionals today.
The Director also highlighted the importance of a supportive workplace environment to maintain productivity, well-being, and work-life balance.
Later, a Role Play was demonstrated by the students of College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal.
The programme was also attended by Deputy Director (Admn), Principal of Dental College, Chief Account Officer cum Financial Advisor, HODs, Nursing Officials, faculty members, staff and students of RIMS, Imphal.
