100th birth anniversary of Maipaksana on Oct 11

Imphal, Oct 9 : The RK Maipaksana Memorial Trust in a press release stated that on October 11 at 8.37 am , a programme in connection with the observance of “100th Birth Anniversary of RK Maipaksana” will be aired on Akashvani Imphal for half an hour sponsored by the RK Maipaksana Memorial Trust.
It further stated that an observance programme on the “100th Birth Anniversary” will be  held on October 11, 2024 at JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal at 2  pm. Padmashri Aribam Syam Sharma and Professor Nongmaithem Tombi Singh will be present as chief guest and president respectively. Later at the event, Dr Chongtham Narendra, columnist of Poknapham newspaper will be awarded the 16th Dr Maipaksana Journalist Fellowship, 2024.
The second volume of “Manipur da ehan hanba Andolan” transcript into Meitei Mayek which was originally written by RK Maipaksana in Bengali script will be also be released during the event.
