Governor hails

THOUBAL, Oct 7: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has hailed Manipuri culture as a major component of Indian culture.
He was speaking at the 226th death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra held at Ram Mandir, Ayodhya on Sunday.  The Governor said that Manipur is a land of devotees.
He said that everyone appreciates the contributions of JN Manipur Dance Academy and Sangeet Natak Academy in promoting Manipuri culture across the world. The death anniversary function was jointly organised by Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur and JN Manipur Dance Academy.
As a part of the death anniversary function, tarpan was offered to Rajarshi Bhagyachandra as well as all those who were killed in the ongoing Manipur crisis.
JN Manipur Academy Director P Bikash, Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur advisor RK Radhamohan, vice-president M Ashok, general secretary Th Dhanakumar and representatives of State Kala Academy, New Delhi attended the death anniversary function.
The death anniversary observation will culminate with similar functions at Vrindavan on October 8 and Radha Kund on October 9.
