NSG U-14 Judo : Manipur emerge overall team champions

IMPHAL, Oct 7 : Manipur emerged overall team champions in the 68th National School Games U-14 Judo hosted in Gujarat with a total of 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals as the competition came to an end today.
The last day of the competition saw Shamukcham Rajaran clinching Manipur's third gold medal in the boys -50 kg category as Thokchom Naomy settled for the silver medal in the girls -36 kg category.
Akoijam Korouwangba (+50 kg) and Naorem Debajit (-45 kg) had also won gold medals for Manipur while Meisnam Abijit had earned a silver medal earlier yesterday in the boys' -40 kg category. Akoijam Korouwangba was also adjudged best judoka in the boys' section.
The athlete who won a bronze for the State team led by N Sumobala and A Surjit as team manager and coach is Wakambam Luhenba (-30 kg).
