IMPHAL, Oct 7: A family from Keishampat Thiyam Leikai has urged groups/individuals concerned to stop harassing the family and summoning them without giving reasons.
Soraisham ongbi Gyaneshwari, the wife of Soraisham Arunkumar, said their family have been harassed by unknown persons who visit them at night and call them on the phone constantly.
Speaking to reporters at their house at Keishampat Thiyam Leikai today, Gyaneshwari said, yesterday night at around 12.27 am, two men in a two-wheeler vehicle came to their home and demanded them to come to the ground floor and talk to them.
Being suspicious, the family refused to meet them and the men then left.
After some minutes, at around 12.50 am, three men in a car came to the house and again demanded the family to meet them.
When the family members refused to come down and instead asked them to state their business from afar, the men left again.
After the men left, the family received a phone call which instructed them to come to Langol Type-II  Quarters without giving any reason, said Gyaneshwari.
Soraisham Arunkumar runs a small grocery store. The unknown persons arriving at their home and asking them to come to Langol Type-II without giving reasons has scared the whole family, said the wife.
Arunkumar had fallen ill and was recently discharged from the hospital. He has an illness and has two sons. The elder is working with a private company and earns very little, added the wife, urging the groups/individuals concerned not to harass the family.
