IMPHAL, Oct 6: Wildlife photographer and publisher of The Sangai Express, Laishram Shamungou Singh has been selected as one of the winners of the State Level Wildlife Photography Competition 2024, held as part of the 70th Wildlife Week Celebration.
Laishram Shamungou Singh has won the second prize of the competition, held on the theme "Wild mammals of Manipur in their natural habitat".
Hailing from Changangei Uchekon, Imphal West, Laishram Shamungou is known for his captivating wildlife photography.
His works have been featured in several journals.
Akoijam Priyojit Singh of Thoubal Wangmataba Sorok Mathak won the State Level Wildlife Photography Competition 2024.
Sanasam Huidrom of Yaiskul Sabaltongba Mayai Leikai won the third prize.
Harem Huidrom of Yaiskul Hiruhanba leikai and Khoyumthem Brajesh Kumar of Soibam Leikai won consolation prizes.
Meanwhile, several other individuals, institutions and NGOs have been selected for National and State level awards recognising their efforts in wildlife conservation.
