RIMS bags awards

IMPHAL, Oct 6: The Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), has been recognized with two awards on National level for its exemplary work in promoting oral health and community outreach.
The department was awarded the 1st consolation prize at the National level during the month-long celebration of World Oral Health Day organized by the Indian Society of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry. The department played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about oral health and providing comprehensive healthcare services to the community, said a press release  issued by the RIMS Media Cell.
The department was also awarded the 1st prize for its efforts in the month and a half long celebration of Nanhi Muskan Project 2024 (15 th July – 31 st August 2024), an initiative aimed at providing healthcare services to underprivileged children.
In collaboration with various organizations, including the Zonal Education Offices, the project offered free dental screenings, treatments, and other medical services such as paediatric, eye, and ENT check-ups, it added.
