Arms, ammos recovered

IMPHAL, Oct 6: A number of arms and ammunition were recovered during a search operation carried out by a combined team of Kakching district commandos and 46 Assam Rifles at Singtom Hill under Sugnu police station this morning.
During the search operation, the combined team recovered one semi machine gun carbine along with magazine loaded with 3 rounds, one 9 mm pistol with empty magazine, three high explosive hand grenades, three tear smoke grenades, one 2 inch mortar, one detonator, three misfired M-16 bullets, eleven empty cases of AK rifle, three empty cases of 303 rifle, two cartridges of 12 bore gun, one empty case of lethod and one bullet proof vest were found inside a white rice bag.
The recovered arms and ammunition were seized on the spot by the combined team by observing necessary formalities and later handed over to Sugnu police station for investigation and necessary legal action, said sources.
