From Shree Shree Govindajee Temple, Sambit Patra went to the Chief Minister’s bungalow and held a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren for around 10 minutes.
From the Chief Minister’s bungalow, Sambit Patra and N Biren came together to Thambal Shanglen (State BJP office), Nityaipat Chuthek and attended a State level Sangathan Parva workshop.
The workshop which started at around 9.30 am went on till 11.40 am.
Apart from Sambit Patra and N Biren, the workshop was attended by around 70 people including some selected BJP MLAs who were invited to the workshop, State level and district level office bearers of the party.
The workshop was held behind closed door and no media persons were allowed entry.
Moreover, what transpired between Sambit Patra and Chief Minister N Biren during their brief meeting could not be ascertained.
Notably, the BJP North East Coordinator visited Manipur for the first time after he attended a joint meeting with Meitei, Kuki and Naga legislators on the Manipur crisis at Delhi on October 15.
Sambit Patra and another MP attended the meeting on behalf of the Government of India. The joint meeting was hosted by the Intelligence Bureau.
Just before the joint meeting, Sambit Patra and representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs led by AK Mishra held a separate meeting with Kuki-Zo legislators from Manipur. Whereas the separate meeting with Kuki-Zo legislators went on for around two hours, the joint meeting ended within 10 minutes. Even though Meitei and Naga did not put any conditions for the talk, Kuki legislators came out with a press release after the October 15 meeting that they would talk with their Naga and Meitei colleagues only if the demand for Separate Administration is on the card. There has been no development so far after the October 15 meeting.
