India bring home 7 medals from Junior World Wushu Championship 2024

IMPHAL, Oct 2
The Indian Wushu team returned to a rousing welcome today at Delhi Airport with a rich haul of seven medals including two golds from the Junior World Wushu Championship 2024 held at Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei.
The 24-member Indian team led by coaches from Manipur- Langoljam Pradipkumar and Sanglakpam Chaoba Devi won two gold, one silver and four bronze medals at the championship.
India’s Aryan clinched the gold medal after defeating Gong Huanran from China in the Boys’ Group Junior 48 kg weight category.
Shaurya triumphed over his Iranian opponent Alireza Zamani to win another gold medal in Boys 48kg (children) section.  
Nang Mingbi Borphukan, in the meantime, won a silver medal in the Taolu Jian Shu C Group event. Tanish Nagar in the 56kg category lost to Abdulkhamid Odilov of Uzbekistan confirming a bronze medal. Abhijeet in the 60kg category, Divyanshi (60kg women) and Yuvraj (42kg) also won bronze medals.
As many as 9 athletes from Manipur were also part of the National team. (with inputs from AIR News)
