Stage set for MU Inter College Men's Football tourney pre-quarterfinals

IMPHAL, Oct 26 : Lilong Haoreibi College, Kakching Khunou College, YK College and Mangolnganbi College all registered wins today to complete the pre-quarterfinal line up of the ongoing Ayekpam Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Men's Football Tournament 2024-25.
Lilong Haoreibi College overwhelmed Maharaj Bodhchandra College by 8-0 goals this morning at Kha Manipur College ground to seal their place in the last-16 round. Marguf Alam (25', 41', 68') was outstanding in this match as he netted thrice for the winners as Safiqur (64', 65') added twice. Raez Khan (6'), Karim (29') and Md Saad (46') also found a goal apiece in this one sided encounter.
In the second match of the day, E Birendrakumar (17', 45') scored twice to inspire Kakching Khunou College to a 4-0 win over Saraswati Institute of Management.
H Tombi (12') and H Thoungamba (29') were also on target for Kakching Khunou College.
With the win, Kakching Khunou College set up a pre-quarterfinal date with Lilong Haoreibi College.
In the third match of the tournament, Kaba (28'), Dayasagar (32') and S Tomba (60+1') scored to earn YK College a 3-0 win over Manipur University and a place in the last-16 round.
In the last match of the day, Mangolnganbi College edged out Imphal College by 2-1 goals to set up a pre-quarterfinal date with YK College.
Kh Suraj (16') and N Dhanaraj (21') scored it for Mangolnganbi College as Chungsorit scored the consolation goal for Imphal College.
