Five-day capacity building programme wraps up

Senapati, Oct 25: A transformative 5-day capacity-building workshop on "Peace Architect Fellows Workshop," concluded on Friday at Maram Union Building in Monday Bazar, Senapati.
The workshop was organized by AMYAA NGO, Senapati, in partnership with Grassroot NGO, Shillong and supported by Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, Bangalore.
Sixteen youth representing various ethnic communities were screened and selected to participate in this intensive program.
As a highlight of the event, five of the best advocacy plans presented by participants were selected for further development.
The five winners and their proposed project are: PN Apollos on "Deforestation", NG Angelous on "Drug Abuse in Senapati HQ", D Lungbila on "Promoting weaving among women in willong village, Senapati, Manipur", Paveine Lily H on "Environmental conservation" and Thiba Samuel on "Empowering communities and institutions for peace building in Senapati district."
The selected youth will have the opportunity to undertake a four-month internship with AMYAA NGO, where they will receive ongoing mentorship as they work toward implementing their advocacy plans in their communities.
Resource persons included Senior Advocate and Public Prosecutor Koshia Mao, Vanilla Veronica (Centre Administrator, One Stop Centre, Senapati), Vivian Pajuh (Director of Program, Grassroot NGO, Shillong), RK Paul Chawang (President and Founder, AMYAA NGO), and Saveinai Phomai (Project Associate, AMYAA).
Their expertise and guidance fostered vibrant discussions and empowered the youth with practical strategies for addressing conflicts and advocating for their communities.
Participants were encouraged to engage in open dialogue, group discussions, presentations and personal storytelling.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony.
