Mortal remains of two laid to rest

IMPHAL, Oct 25: Mortal remains of PREPAK (Pro)’s Red Army Captain Wahengbam Saratkumar alias Sopaiba and Lance Corporal Nongmaithem Bonysana alias Nongdon were laid to rest at Thongak Lairembi Ching, Iroisemba today.
The funeral and the last rites were participated by a large number of people including family members.
As the remains of Captain Wahengbam Saratkumar alias Sopaiba and Lance Corporal Nongmaithem Bonysana made their way to the final resting ground, people came out on the streets and offered floral tributes to their mortal remains.
The family members and a large number of people again paid their last respect to the revolutionary fighters before their mortal remains were laid to last with customary and religious rituals.
On the other hand, a large number of people including members/volunteers of different clubs, organisations and Meira Paibi Lups paid floral tribute to the mortal remains of PLA Captain Oinam Guli alias Babu at Heirok Part I Umang Laikol.
Mortal remains of Gulu alias Babu would be laid to rest at Heirok Laikol on October 26.
It is said that family members of the revolutionary fighter would come from Jiribam to attend the funeral and the last rites.
Notably, the last rites of Nongmaithem Bonysana alias Nongdon were performed on October 24 with Pangong serving as his mortal remains.
The three revolutionary fighters were killed in a gun battle at the border area on October 23.
