IMPHAL, Oct 24: Modern College beat United College Chandel 5-4 in penalties in one of the matches of the A Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Football (M) Tournament 2024 today.
At Kha Manipur College (KMC) ground, Kakching today, Modern College, CI College, Western College and Liberal College came out victorious.
CI College beat NG Mani College 5-0.
Western College beat NG College 2-1.
Liberal College beat Pole Star College 3-1.
Modern College vs United College, Chandel
The first match of the day and 7th of the tournament saw Modern College and United College locking horns without any goal till end.
In penalty shootouts that followed, Modern College scored 5 goals against United College's 4.
K Kalundai, Chungthalen, Kakomreng, Ditlomwar and Leishi scored for Modern College.
Ningtungam, Kenphasha, Jupa and Mopham scored goals for United College, Chandel.
CI College vs NG Mani College
Chanambam Ibomcha (CI) College's Jebison emerged star of the match scoring 3 goals as the team beat NG Mani College 5-0.
CI College led the first half of the match with 2 goals from Kh Jebison (9th) and O Amarjit (28th).
CI College further extended the lead with 3 more goals in the second half.
Jesbison scored his second and third goals successively in the 32nd and 51st minute before Kh Sunny added the fifth goal of the team in the 60+1 minute.
Western College vs NG College
NG College led the early match with one goal from Larneiwar (22nd minute), but Western College's S Ajitkumar found an equalizer in the 42nd minute.
Even as NG College looked to add score and lead the match, Western College's N Vaskar poured cold water on their effort scoring the winning goal in the 47th minute.
NG College couldn't find an equalizer and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Western College.
Liberal College vs Pole Star College
Abhinash's early goal one minute into the match handed Pole Star College the lead, but Ng Telheiba found an equalizer for Liberal College in the 18th minute.
The equalizer motivated Liberal College to add two more goals from B Jim (21st) and L Rishikanta (60+1) to win the match 3-1.
