28th State Youth Basketball Championship 2024 LMYVA script third straight victory in boys' Group A campaign, ESU enter girls' final

IMPHAL, Oct 21 : LMYVA, Lalambung boys enjoyed their third win on the trot in Group A campaign in the 28th State Youth Basketball Championship 2024 as they edged Youth Club, Uripok by 58-41 points today.
Owen led the scoring for LMYVA today adding 28 points alone as Thoungamba (11 pts) and Darwin (10 pts) too completed double digit figures for the team. Leingakpa also scored 8 points for the winners as Malenson added one.
Wilson, on the other hand, topscored for Youth Club, adding 22 points on the back of 3 three point shots while Taibanganba added second highest 6 points. Benjamin and Bishwanand also found their names on the scoresheet adding 4 points apiece as Bhusan (3 pts) and Lanchenba (2 pts) contributed five points.
In the Group B staged this morning, CYLC, Chingamathak pulled off their second win in three games by beating YOSC, Khurai 54-37.
Chingkheinganba (15 pts), A Prince (12 pts including a three pointer) and Lanngamba (11 pts) led the scoring for CYLC today as L Leishemba and H Frengky added 7 and 5 points respectively, and N Anurag and M Jorickson added two points apiece.
Biranjan (11 pts), Sanson (9 pts), Groson (8 pts), Prithibiraj (7 pts) and Deepak (2) were able to find their names on the scoresheet for the Khurai side.
In another Group A match staged in the afternoon, Sainik School registered a comfortable 46-19 win over YWC, Malom courtesy of leading scoring performances from Denial (19 pts) and Priyanas (11 pts).
Sheetal and Arjun also added identical 6 points as Thoihenba added 4 points to the Sainik School's tally.
Lucky meanwhile topscored for YWC with 11 points as Calvin Laishram added 3 points, Paikhomba and Nikhil added two points apiece and Yohenba Ch added 1.
ESU edge YOSC 46-42 to reach girls' final
The day also saw ESU, Wangkhei defeating YOSC, Khurai by 46-42 points in a keenly contested second match of the girls competition participated by three teams.
ESU, having beaten RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya 40-9 yesterday in the opening match, sealed the final berth with today's win and will play the winners between YOSC and RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya in the title clash.
Katherine produced an impressive scoring performance to register 19 highest points in ESU's victory as Sylvia and Nganthoi added 10 points apiece. Derina also added 5 points to ESU's tally as Kretina contributed 2 points.
For YOSC, Tutu topscored with 16 points as she completed two three point shots in the second period while Khushi added second highest 10 points. Lanchenbi and Belina also added 6 points apiece and Angelina picked four points.
