IMPHAL, Oct 21 : With the aim to provide free education to the students belonging to under privileged sections, the All Manipur Dalit Development Association which is planning to build dalit schools in 16 districts of the State appealed the State Government and the people to extend help in completing the project.
Speaking to journalists, president of the association TM Rajen Ayangba said, the dalit school is supposed to be built under funding from the Central Government.
"The State Government needs to send recommendations to the Central Government and also help the initiatives taken by the association," he asserted. He further said to build a  dalit school for the orphans, a foundation stone was erected in 2022 at Senapati district, but the ongoing crisis in the State has hampered the project. So, in order to fully make the school operational by 2025, initiatives have been taken up, he added. A committee of 9 members has also been formed to build a dalit school in Lamphelpat, he added.
