IMPHAL, Oct 21: One Khwairakpam Joykumar from Thanga Ithing Mamang Leikai has alleged that he was kept away from the recruitment test conducted by the Staff Selection Commission today for appointment multi tasking staff.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, Disabled Development Association (DDA) Manipur information and publicity secretary Khwairakpam Budhinanda said that Joykumar was a candidate of the particular exam and he went to give the exam at Mark Academy, Changangei Ucheckon together with his scribe.
But the invigilator did not allow him to give the exam, Budhinanda alleged.
Saying that the invigilator not only disallowed the  disabled candidate from giving the exam but also scolded the candidate with harsh words, Budhinanda urged the Mark Academy authority to terminate the invigilator immediately.
Budhinanda further asserted that the invigilator must tender an apology.
Joykumar prepared to give the exam under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the invigilator has no authority to defy the Act, Budhinanda said.
He also decried how the invigilator humiliated and discriminated against the disabled candidate.
Budhinanda said that they would lodge a complaint regarding the matter to the office of the Commissioner, Disabilities.
