Body claimed

IMPHAL, Oct 20: The body of Laishram Johnson was claimed today for cremation and last rites.
Laishram Johnson of Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai was beaten to death by some unidentified persons before his body was dumped at Khurkhul Primary Health Centre on October 14 night.
Following an assurance for justice from the State Government, family members and members of the JAC  against the Brutal Killing of L Johnson and Torture of Elam Roshan claimed the body of Johnson from RIMS mortuary today.
Elam Roshan of Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai who went together with Johnson was also subjected to physical torture and he was hospitalised.
JAC convenor Mongjam Bimol said that the Government has assured to appoint a family member of Johnson to a suitable Government job.
The State Government also agreed to bear all the medical expenses for treatment of Elam Roshan, Bimol added.
