State Youth Basketball Championship : LMYVA ease to second win in youth boys' competition

IMPHAL, Oct 19 : LMYVA, Lalambung cruised to second straight Group A victory in the boys' competition of the 28th State Youth Basketball Championship 2024 as they beat Sainik School by 54-33 points today.
Owen led the scoring with 20 points in LMYVA's comfortable win as his teammates Thoungamba and Leingakpa followed suit with 13 and 11 points respectively. Kelvin and Prasanta also contributed 3 points apiece to the team's tally as Darwin and Chaoba added 2 points apiece.
For Sainik School, Sheetal and Daniel scored 8 points apiece as Priyansh  scored 6 points. Dhanaraj (4 pts), Henry (3 pts), Deipayon (2 pts) and Arjun (2 pts) also found their names on the scoresheet for Sainik School.
Earlier in a Group B encounter, CYLC, Chingamathak prevailed 62-18 over BDBA, Bishnupur as Chingkheinganba (17 pts) and L Leishemba (16 pts) made big contributions. A Prince also added 6 points to the team's tally as H Frengky, N Kiyamba, A Korounganba, and RK Lucky added 4 points apiece and M Jorikson (3 pts) and L Langanba (2 pts) added five points together.
W Dimson (6 pts), M Suryajeet (4 pts), Ng Sinivash (4 pts), M Shivason (2 pts) and Ph Inunganba (2 pts) on the other hand scored it for the Bishnupur team.
