IMPHAL, Oct 19 : The Jiri Apunba Lup (JAL) has rejec-ted the claim that Meitei individuals were involved in setting Blooming Flower Foundation at Kalinagar, Jiribam on fire yesterday (October 18).
In a two-page statement, JAL said that the allegation raised against the Meitei community by Hmar village volunteers of Pherzawl and Jiribam and Kuki Inpi (Jiribam, Tamenglong and Noney) and  ITAC (Pher-zawl and Jiribam) over the incident is unacceptable.
It said that the allegation raised against the Meitei community without any substantive evidence is completely unacceptable.
Claiming that the lies propagated by Kuki-Zo-Hmar organisations are being exposed day by day, JAL contended that the Meitei community is one of the most peace loving communities in the State.
Meiteis have lived peacefully alongside diverse com- munities for years, it further said.
Stating that the unprecedented violence erupted between the Meitei community and illegal immigrants identified as Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists on May 3, 2023,  JAL  claimed that the spark of the conflict was  ignited by the terror activities of Chin-Kuki narco terrorists which were designed to raise the demand of Kukiland or separate administration.
The Kuki militant groups and their frontal organisations have manipulated and entrapped innocent Kuki-Zo-Hmar people who have been living together with Meiteis for years, it said.
JAL went on to state that they are concerned by the warning served to the Meiteis and Central and State security personnel by Hmar village volunteers to leave the Barak Circle before the sunset of October 18, 2024.
Subsequent upon the warning, Kuki-Zo-Hmar armed groups launched a massive attack at Borobekra police station today (October  19), JAL said and urged the law enforcing agencies to take immediate actions against them and hold all members of their organisations accountable for the illegal activities.
