SHADOW, SCCC victorious in 5th N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy

IMPHAL, Oct 18 : SHADOW, Thangmeiband and SCCC, Singjamei emerged victorious in today's matches of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2024-25 organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
In the second Group B staged this morning at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal SHADOW notched up an emphatic 9-wicket win over RULE, Meitram.
SHADOW chose wisely to field first after winning the toss and bowled out RULE for 70 within 24.4 overs before cruising to a winning 74 in just 11.1 overs at the cost of a wicket.
SHADOW skipper Sagatpam Lanchenba starred in the match as picked 4 wickets for 9 runs to set up the RULE collapse with the assistance of Chinglemba Haobam (2/7) and Arubam Goshan (2/13). Lanchenba then scored unbeaten 33  off 43 balls to seal the victory with Devis Khunjamayum was also unbeaten on 12 after Yohenba Konjengbam was trapped lbw.
Sanathoi Sanjenbam topscored for RULE with 19 runs to his name as 6 of their line up went out on naughts and three other ended up scoring meagre single digit runs.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, SCCC opened their Group C campaign with a 29-run victory against CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai.
CDCC opted to field first and restricted SCCC to 155 all out in 27.5 overs courtesy of Iqbal Korimayum (4/37), Warish Khan (2/30) and Misba Ul Haque (2/30). The total however proved too big as they slumped to 126 all out in 22.3 overs and handed SCCC a 29 run victory.
Moirangthem Johnson was the pick of the SCCC bowler registering a fifer (5/24) as Rahul Thingbaijam aided effectively claiming four other wickets (4/36) to make things hard for the chasing Sagolband team.
For SCCC, Konthoujam Tomthinganba  scored an unbeaten 49 while 8 others ended up with single digit scores and two got out on ducks.
For CDCC, Imran Khan 31, Wasim Khan 18, Warish Khan 12 and Afiq Hussain 11 managed double digit scores but 7 others were dismissed cheaply.
